Survey of water towers
Project overview
Detailed topographical and elevation surveys of 25 water towers located throughout the north and west Leinster. The surveys had to be carried out over a 16 week period as per a detailed schedule agreed in advance with Irish water.
Project solution
- Surveys carried out utilising a variety of methods and technologies including Trimble S6 robotic total station, Trimble R10 GNSS receiver and Trimble TX8 laser scanner.
- All topographical survey details were captured including underground pipes and sizes.
- Internal surveys of towers also carried out and included as part of the topographical survey drawings.
- 360 degree photography captured as part of the elevation surveys was used by the client as for producing detailed condition reports.
- Our crews had to mobilise and survey at least one tower site per day due to limited access.

- AutoCAD 1:500 topographical survey plans.
- AutoCAD 1:50 elevation drawings.
